99.9% sure there will be a bridge to cross in the spring.

These pics were taken in december, and it looks like most of the heavy lifting has been done. Just landscapeing and bulldozing left to do.

The bridge looks good. Has anyone been out there lately to see if any more work has been done? Is the state in charge of finishing the approaches? Any idea of completion?
The trail ride will be awesome as usual.

I went through there 2-3 weeks ago on the sled and stopped and looked at it and the bridge span is done (but not painted) the rebar was on the deck (but no cement ) and the approches where done . It seemed very narrow , I dont think an ambulance could fit through it , bad planning on someone`s part . Other than that it looks just fine , should work well for pedestrians, horses and dirt bikes , NOT tractors and equipment, pickups or rescue vehicels

I haven't seen it in person yet, but early talks about what size bridge that they were going to put up said it would be big enough for an ambulance,....but maybe that changed.

On a positive note, a narrow bridge cements (no pun intended) the fact that that road will never become a "public" road. There was talk of that in the early discussions as well.

I was down there Saturday. It looks like more rock is needed on the west side and the deck is ready to pour. Not sure if a rescue vehicle could get across it, but surely an ATV type could use it. Looks like we will have a bridge by the spring trailride, no complaints here----

The Whipporwill Campground aprox. 3 miles east of Thielman on Co. Rd. 4 has campsites, cabins , showers , bar and grill , that is the closest full service campgroud avalibile , which by road is about 7miles from the West Assembly ( sign up ) area .

The bridge dedication was last Friday. Milo, Denny and I attended along with horse club members and DNR representatives. The bridge is open and looks very good. They did a great job.

any idea if a stock 2004 KX250F would pass sound test with a spark arrestor? hate to drive all the way up there and then not pass sound.

A stock KX250F does not have a spark arrestor. So, what exhaust do you have on it?

If you are going to make your own spark arrestor with the stock muffler you can almost be gauranteed not to pass.

Endcaps like ProMoto Billet's work most of the time, but I've seen some fail.

The best bet is a quiet muffler from an aftermarket exhaust company. A couple hundred bucks is a small price to pay to keep riding areas open.

There are other variables to sound testing like the weather and state of tune of the bike so there is no way to be 100% sure it will pass until you actually test it. Whichever option you use, make sure your muffler packing is in good condition. If you're not sure, re-pack it.

Specifically which exhaust and spark arrestor combination were you thinking?

If you have the stock exhaust, and you installed a pro moto billet "spark arrestor endcap" and the "quiet insert", and have fresh packing (that isn't packed too tight) you would pass the sound test. (can't guarantee, but I'm 99% sure)

Actually, a 250 KX-F with factory equipped exhaust has no trouble passing the 96db test. A spark arrester should be fitted and is required for riding on state land; however, with the weather we've had fire is not a problem. I could be wrong but only in extremely dry conditions have we been concerned about the arrester. The pro billet end cap works well is an inexpensive way to go to add the arrester requirement.

The newer KX-F's are THE worst (read LOUDEST/RASPIEST) in real world applications!! They have designed them (through ignition mapping) to pass sound tests, but in actual riding they are RIDICULOUSLY loud in stock form.
