I'm bringing about 10 or so from the Des Moines, IA area this year. Best riding in the midwest! |

The Golden Eagles Cycle Club had record numbers of riders at the Zumbro Bottoms for our motorized trail ride on May 16 and 17, 2009 celebrating the opening of the new bridge at Funk's Ford (and cheaper fuel). As a result of the huge turnout, we realized financial success that allows us to fund the application of dust control throughout the West Assembly area to improve the quality of everyone's camping experience. Application of the materials will be done on Thursday before the Memorial Day weekend in time for the schedule horse trail ride event. The winds and dry conditions recently has produced very dusty conditions in the campground detracting from the quality we all expect at the Zumbro Bottoms. The GECC looks forward to continuing to work with the MTRA, DNR, and others to improve the great resource we all enjoy, the Zumbro Bottoms. Dust control applied now is expected to continue to provide relief well into the fall so our September event should be even better. |
