Report from a couple of members from Thursday and Friday:
I just spoke with a member who has been there all week getting things ready. He was fresh off the bottoms trails and said there is no sign of mud at This point. He felt it will take more rain than is forecasted to make it muddy. He called it perfect at this point. We are supposed to get 1/4" today and then it is overnight Saturday night for the next chance and that doesn't look like a wash out either.
It's been very dry here all winter, with little snow. 3 weeks ago the DNR had a fire ban imposed, and most farmers were in the fields planting, which was way early for this neck of the woods. Now, we have had a week of on-and-off rain, but we are not soaked by any means. The woods and the trails will take a lot more moisture, as we have been very dry and dusty.
So, in short, the fire ban is gone, and I do not expect that you will have difficulty with mud at this event. I believe that after we run 800 or so bikes over the trails tomorrow, that it will be dusty by the end of the day.
