New player on the snow conversion game for bikes.
Timbersled out of ID is releasing their kit this weekend in Jackson.
What I've heard is the prototype has almost 1000 miles this season on a yz450 stock minus the pipe.
Claims are that you could run this kit on a 250f vs having to run a big bore for the 2-moto, etc. Claims are that it doesn't rob the HP like other kits.
Currently they are running a 121x2" track with rumors of going to 144 as an option.
They also will have a wheel kit to adapt on the ski so you can ride low snow levels until you hit good stuff.
Little video of playing on a hill. First 2 bikes are Timber Sled, last two are supposed to be running the 2 Moto

reports from a guy who has gotten to ride with Allen the guy from Timber Sled
This snowbike doesn't eat up HP like some of the others on the market...You could run this on a 250F... but the 450's definitely up the "fun factor"
Today, I watched Allen climb a peak normally reserved for turbo sled.
It turns the track just fine... 3rd gear is the gear of choice for most riding...on a YZ450F with only a slip on muffler and Power bomb pipe (stock front gear).
No turbo... but wouldn't that be a BLAST!!
This unit is completely different than anything else out there. Over 1000 miles on the test bike and only minor tweaks for the the production version.
More details and pricing, from what I understand, will be available at Jackson Hole next week. |
